Study Tours

Study Tours to completed projects are an opportunity for community groups to learn from the experience of other projects and get inspiration for their own buildings, raising design aspirations and giving people a sense of what works and what doesn't.

London Study Tour - Wednesday 22 August 2018
This one-day study tour of three distinctive projects in east London set out to inspire people about the potential of design to enhance and reimagine historic places of worship. Attendees learned about different approaches to supporting community activities and engagement, explored the design changes that have been made to accommodate them and met with people involved in managing these places. Thanks to our hosts at Bromley by Bow Centre, St Paul’s Bow Common, and St. Paul’s Old Ford.

Mossley Hill Church Study Tour - Wednesday 16 January 2019
This study tour was hosted by Mossley Hill Church in Liverpool, who talked about their remodelling project. Participants had the opportunity to walk around the church and explore the design interventions and features, and learned about the approach and processes used to make the church a social space for the neighbourhood to connect.
